Bridge cards measure 2.25 x 3.5 inches, so your card box must match those dimensions. Learn what to look for in a single deck card box.
Quick Answer
A standard bridge deck measures 2.25 x 3.5 inches, so you need a card box designed for those exact dimensions. The KEM Bridge Single Deck Card Box in clear acrylic fits this size snugly and protects your deck.
Why Size Matters for Bridge Card Boxes
Bridge cards are narrower than poker cards, so a box made for poker cards will leave your deck rattling around. A snug fit keeps cards from shifting during travel and prevents edge damage.
Clear acrylic boxes let you see the deck inside without opening the lid, which is handy when you store multiple decks. You can grab the right one at a glance.
Trade-offs of Acrylic vs. Cardboard Boxes
Acrylic boxes are more durable than cardboard and resist moisture, but they can scratch if dropped. They also cost a bit more, though the protection is worth it for frequent players.
Cardboard boxes are lightweight and cheap, but they wear out quickly and offer little protection against spills or crushing.
FAQ: Bridge Card Box Size
- What are the exact dimensions of a standard bridge deck?
- A standard bridge deck measures 2.25 x 3.5 inches. Always check that your card box is built for these dimensions, not poker-sized cards (2.5 x 3.5 inches).
- Can I use a poker card box for bridge cards?
- Technically yes, but the cards will be loose and may slide around. A dedicated bridge card box provides a snug fit that protects the deck during transport and storage. For the best protection, choose a box that matches the card size exactly.
- What should I look for in a clear acrylic card box?
- Look for a box with clear acrylic construction so you can identify the deck inside, and confirm the interior dimensions are tailored to bridge cards (2.25 x 3.5 inches). A single deck capacity is ideal for carrying one standard deck. Acrylic offers durability and visibility, but handle it carefully to avoid scratches.
